Most film aficionados find it hard to ignore the hullabaloo of the Oscars. The magical night of the 76th Annual Academy Awards is scheduled for Sunday, February 29th and will probably be a star-studded spectacle of glamour and glitz. In honor of the Academy Awards and all the attention paid to this year’s most triumphant films, we're offering a movie-centric SQUIB.

Quicktime Movie Trailers and the Internet Movie Database

Fun and easy to navigate, these two websites should be featured in any movie-goer's browser “favorites” – www.apple.com/trailers and www.IMDB.com.

If by chance you were unable to see all 50 movies listed in this year’s Oscars, check out the Quicktime Movie Trailers at www.apple.com/trailers. Appearing in gold letters on the left-hand side of the page is a link to this year’s Oscar hopefuls. Get a preview of all the films you never saw before casting your vote at the neighborhood Oscar party. An Alternative to Late Movie Rental Fees: NetFlix

I have come up with a universal flaw in the DVD rental business -- the need for my physical presence in the store. There is nothing more troublesome than actually getting in my car so that I can drive to the movie store, knowing that I will also have to get in my car to return the movies BEFORE they are due.
