for Mac OS X Users
Did you know that your Menu Bar can be customized with helpful extras? Some of these extras are ready to go in OS X. They simply need to be added by the user. You can find these extras in the System/Library/CoreServices/Menu Extras.
What can you do with Menu Extras?
A really handy Menu Bar Extra is the Eject Button. You may want to add the Eject button to your Menu Bar, allowing you to automatically recognize removable media drives and selectively eject the media in those drives. There are other Menu Extras available. Just pick and choose which extras are important to you.
How do I add a Menu Extra?
Menu Extras appear as folders. Simply drag the folder you want to the Menu Bar. The Menu Extra will be installed and ready to use right away. You will see the Menu Extra icon on the Menu Bar for your User Account. (Any other Users on your system will not have this customization until they add the Menu Extra as well.)
To remove or rearrange any Menu Extras, hold down the Command key and drag the icon with your mouse. (When you remove the Menu Extra from the Menu Bar, the icon will Poof and disappear.)
